Mr. Arthur Ma was appointed as Board Observer of Western Resources Corp. in October 2020. Mr. Ma is currently Senior Engineer and General Manager of Legal and Assets Management Department of China BlueChemical Ltd (CBC).
Mr. Ma brings with him extensive potash and fertilizer commercial experience from the sector as well as a sound M&A and analytical background in the potash space, thanks to his over 20 years work experience in China’s large-scale State-owned enterprises in chemical industry. Mr. Ma's main responsibilities in CBC include corporate legal affairs, stock equity management, M&A projects both domestic and overseas especially in potash field. As the company’s Potash Work Group leader, he was closely involved in one brownfield project cooperation, two green-field potash project tender offers, and tracked several green-field potash projects. Since January 2011, he was in charge of CBC’s strategic investment in Western Potash over the world-class Milestone Project. In Sept. 2016, Mr. Ma was assigned to Regina in his capacity as a major shareholder representative to help supervise and manage the development of the Phase 1 Project, having served as Vice President, Co-CEO and Vice Chairman of Western Potash successively. Prior to joining CBC, Mr. Ma worked with China National Chemical Construction Corp (CNCCC) for 16 years, having served as Assistant to General Manager, Deputy General Manager and General Manager of the Business Department of CNCCC respectively, where his main duties include management of the company’s over 30 domestic and overseas branches and subsidiaries, during which time Mr. Ma was also President of CNCCC Qingdao Corp.
Mr. Ma holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master degree, both in Polymer Science from East China University of Science and Technology.
