(TSX: WRX) (the “Company”) is pleased to report on the overall status of and progress on the Company’s Milestone Potash Phase 1 Project (the “Project”) operated by the Company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Western Potash Corp. (“Western”), and the Company’s gradual phase out of its real estate investments from its business model in order to improve its financial position and refocus its efforts on the successful completion of the Project.

Western Resources Corp. is very pleased to announce that Western Potash Corp., the company’s  wholly-owned subsidiary, has safely and successfully completed the Phase I production drilling program, and has start solution mining into all three horizontal caverns. These are the first intentionally drilled and connected horizontal potash caverns in Saskatchewan, and signify a new and improved method of extracting potash in the province.

Western Potash Corp, the company’s  wholly-owned subsidiary, has entered into a binding offtake agreement with Archer Daniels Midland Company (NSYE: ADM) (“ADM”) for 100% of the potash production (146,000 tonnes per annum) from the Milestone Phase I plant.

Mr. Venter has also been appointed as COO and board director of Western Resources Corp.
